How can crops be protected and stable yields maintained when water resources are limited? This question is becoming increasingly important in the context of climate change and more frequent periods of drought.

The agronomy research group at the BioSense Institute is investigating opportunities for more efficient use of available water in agricultural production. The research focuses on achieving more uniform water distribution in irrigation systems and determining optimal irrigation rates based on crop requirements and the irrigation method applied.

Nevena Stevanović, a researcher at the BioSense Institute, discussed this topic in the programme Kako struka kaže, broadcast by AgroTV Srbija. She highlighted the importance of precise water management for crop protection, yield stability and the adaptation of agricultural production to the effects of climate change.

By applying scientific knowledge and advanced technologies, water resource management can be improved, contributing to the development of more sustainable and resilient agriculture.
