BioSense Institute welcomed a delegation from Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in China. The discussions opened new opportunities for connecting research teams and developing joint projects in the fields of artificial intelligence, biosensors, biomedical engineering, and other advanced technologies.

The delegation, comprising Prof. Dr. Ang Li, Dean of the School and Hospital of Stomatology, Associate Professor Minli You, and PhD candidate Zhen Chai, was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Snežana Pajović, Acting Director of the BioSense Institute. She introduced the guests to the Institute’s development, research mission, capacities, and key areas of expertise. The meeting continued with a presentation by Dr. Vasa Radonić, Principal Research Fellow at the Center for Sensor Technologies, who outlined the Center’s current research and the potential applications of advanced sensor and biosensor systems.

The participants discussed potential areas of cooperation, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, biomedical engineering, big data processing, smart agriculture, and environmental protection. Particular attention was given to opportunities for joint research projects, stronger connections between scientific teams, and researcher and student mobility.

The guests showed particular interest in the Institute’s laboratories, and the programme continued with a tour of its facilities. This gave the delegation an opportunity to see where BioSense research takes place through presentations of its equipment and emerging technologies, as well as direct discussions with researchers.

The visit was organized as part of the XJTU delegation’s stay at the University of Novi Sad, hosted by the Faculty of Medicine.
